Since 2008, I have owned and operated Four Legged Friends out of the Phinney Ridge neighborhood in Seattle. On the job, I have learned a ton about dogs and how to work with them. I have been an animal lover all of my life and at one time trained to be a vet. I have worked in a zoo with large, exotic animals and caring for horses at a private stable. I have kept a flock of chickens for more than eight years. Raising a child enabled me to see many parallels between the young human brain and the canine one. However, I still take the time to observe, translate and learn from the canine point of view. I feel privileged to lavish attention and care on your four legged family members.
I enjoy learning about how animals behave and communicate and use this information to create a stress-free happy visit with your pet. I continue my education in this area via books, videos, and seminars. If I notice anything unusual with your pet, I'll let you know so we can research it and rule out any medical issues, as well as work on behavioral issues.
For each client, my hope is to further your pet's resiliency by encouraging positive experiences with other animals and people. Dogs with me have learned to be less reactive, more social and enjoy the benefits of being in a pack. Dogs on leashed walks have enjoyed being matched up with others for companion walks. Dogs who stay with us are treated as our own family pet for the time they are with us.
Although many people think of dog walkers as someone to walk their dog when they are not home, I offer something a little different. The pack experience with a limited number of members means that your dog has a group to call their own. Relationships are real, playful and last years. Some of my clients have been with me for 10 years or more and are on their second generation of dogs. Whether you are home or not, your dog deserves a pack! My philosophy is simple: excercised and socialized equals loved. I look forward to working with you.
cheers,
Liza
